*Authenticity of recitation and depth of understanding…*

*A special competition in the Holy Quran and Islamic Education at Hadhramout International Schools*

Hadhramout International Schools, represented by the Holy Quran and Islamic Education Department, organised a special competition in Quranic memorisation alongside the curriculum-based competition in Islamic Education, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the practical and interactive aspects of the educational process for students.

The two competitions took place over two consecutive days. The first day was dedicated to the Holy Quran memorisation competition, where students competed on the accuracy of their memorisation and the quality of their recitation, whilst the second day was dedicated to the curriculum-based competition, which covered various subjects and saw broad participation from all year groups.

In the memorisation competition, students showed strong memorisation and recitation. The curriculum-based competition reflected the schools’ commitment to consolidating academic understanding and enhancing academic achievement through interactive, engaging activities on the accuracy of their memorisation and the quality of their recitation, whilst the second day was dedicated to the curriculum-based competition, which covered various subjects and saw methods.

These events underscore the school’s administration’s commitment, in coordination with the Holy Quran and Islamic Education Department, to developing students’ personalities in various aspects, particularly through the study and application of the Holy Quran, alongside the establishment of a culture of active learning.

In a related context, the Holy Quran and the Islamic Education Department have published an awareness leaflet entitled “Ethics and Behaviour”, which includes simplified ethical topics and meaningful educational guidance. This forms part of the package of activities and programmes offered by the department to reinforce positive values and behaviours among students, and to link theoretical knowledge with practical application in their daily lives, thereby contributing to the development of a conscious generation that combines authenticity with knowledge.
